ADUN Lenggeng Diarahkan Bela Diri Atas Dakwaan Rasuah

Lenggeng assemblyman ordered to defend corruption charges
By SARBAN SINGH
SEREMBAN: Lenggeng assemblyman Mustafa Salim has been ordered to enter his defence over three charges of soliciting and accepting bribes.
High Court judicial commissioner Ahmad Nasfy Yasin said Wednesday the prosecution had establishd a prima facie case against the first-term assemblyman.
Mustafa, 51, was acquitted of the charges by the Sessions Court here in April but the prosecution appealed the verdict.
He had been accused of receiving the bribes as an inducement to issue a supporting letter for contractor M. Manimaran, 37, to obtain a permit to sell sand.
Session Court judge Amran Jantan had then ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the accused.
